    SOLD SOLD

Don't know where the OP ran off to but I didn't receive a response to my query which I made a day after he bumped the add.

Who carrys a firearm with them while camping?

What a coincidence. I lost mine years ago in the same manner! It was tragic.....

    Falken Wildpeak Tires

Five or six years ago I had a set of 37" ATs on my Ram 3500 Megacab with Cummins diesel, and while performance was good, longevity was not. My truck can eat through tires pretty quickly but I think I barely got 20,000 miles out of the Wildpeak. I get closer to 30,000 out of my BFG ATs.

    Cordless Chainsaw

I use an Ego 56v 14" chainsaw around the house. It's been through some large pieces (24"+) of dry/hard eucalyptus and works pretty well. The BMS in the batteries is pretty conservative, so if I work it too hard it will shut down until, I presume, the batteries cool down, though they never seem...

HAM Radio with MARS/CAP Mod vs. 2 Radios in Rig (GMRS + HAM)

I think the point made is don't advertise when you will be leaving your home for extended periods because obtaining one's address is so easy, and while you're gone you home is an easy target for burglars. At least that's what I took from it. :grinning:

    Dry food storage

Last time out I kept all my dry food and kitchen components in my Leitner Designs GearPOD XL. It worked out pretty well even though everything was loose and just loosely organized. I have since moved my non-food kitchen items (stove, pots and pans, utensils, fuel, etc.) into a Plano Sportsman's...

    HMMWV GMV Build

Wheels and tires look great. How does it ride? I bet that truck would benefit from suspension seats.

proper cargo tie down on roof rack

I trust cam straps. Been using them since the 80's to secure my motorcycles and have never had one come loose. I still prefer ratchet straps because it easier to control the amount of tension applied.

proper cargo tie down on roof rack

The Stratchits are similar to the Rok Straps I use on my motorcycle. They work well on lighter loads but I haven't tried them on larger, heavier items. I still like ratchet straps for bigger, heavier items. They come in all sizes and have different end to work with all tie down points. On my...

Who here plans Overland trips around Fishing?

Has anyone devised a good method to transport their rods while overlanding? The last trip I made I didn’t secure them well enough and damaged a couple and I don’t want that happening again. How does everyone protect their equipment while bouncing around off road?

5th Gen Ram light bar solution

I think you’ll be happy with your light bar. I’ve had a Randy Ellis Designs light bar on my Megacab since 2006. The powder coating is a bit faded but its solid as a rock on the front of my 3rd gen.

    Light Bars v Light Pods

I like the versatility of standalone lights over light bars.

    Should I be worried?

My daily routine has changed very little during this COVID nonsense. My occupation (civil engineer, land surveyor) has been deemed essential so I haven't missed a single day of work. On the contrary, I'm busier now than I have been in a while. I found a gym with a defiant owner that has remained...

HAM Radio with MARS/CAP Mod vs. 2 Radios in Rig (GMRS + HAM)

I have a modded Icom IC-V8000 in my truck that I've used for the past 15 years, mostly to listen in on off road desert racing. If I'm in my truck I much prefer that radio over the Baofeng handhelds.

    Funky Tire Pressure Guage

I've been using a good quality, brass construction, made is USA Milton S-920 pencil gauge to verify my Accu-Gage and Intercomp dial gauges and recommend them. They're less than $10 and very good.

    Overlanding/Camping holster

I like steel guns, too, and carry big heavy S&W N-frame revolvers. I wear either a Clark Fork Leather chest rig or an OWB R Grizzle Leather Georgia Snap 2. Both work very well and look great.
