We were bored and decided to go to Talladega National Forest 600-2. So, we packed up the diaper bag and some food for the 4 year old, wife, and myself. It was fun and we were glad we went, even though at the end the 1 month old had enough of being in the car seat! Here are some pictures of the...
We have a 4 year old and a newborn. At the time its day trips for us. Our latest was to 600-1 in the Talladega National Forest. We prefer either the beach (wife) and being in the outdoors ( a good trail for the F150), anything that gets us away from the hustle of life and closer together.

Hello!
We just moved to the Auburn/Opelika area from North Dakota. While we are looking forward to exploring Alabama, it will be a slow go at first with a newborn. I will be slowly building my F150 up for trail running, but it is good enough as it sits for now.

So I found these tires on Walmart.com, could not pass up with the price where it was! Firestone wanted $339.00 for them. I will get them mounted when we get to Alabama. Gotta get one more trip out of the Duratacs!
As far as I can tell when you purchase the CXHD or the MXHD they are part of AREs package. It would be amazing id they made the Overland topper with the skeleton, it looks far better then the CX and MX series toppers.
Do you think framing it with 2x4s would work, I have no welding skills! :)
I have been looking into these as well, the ARE CX HD seems to be a good one...but the price, I'm not sure it is worth it as apposed to the Leitner Cargo System. It seems that for cost the Leitner work out to be the same in the long run, but you could buy it piece by piece. Plus until someone...
I decided to go with the Thrush muffler SI/SO, it was in expensive ($240). They removed the reonator and I had them bring it out in front of the passenger rear wheel.
What do you think?
Raul, in another forum you had an ARE shell with a rack you fabricated. How was the rack attached to the truck? Did you mount it to the shell, or were the holes you drilled into the shell so you could get to the bed rail? I like the idea of the shell, but all of the specs say they they can't...
This is picture I took while my family and I stayed at Lewis and Clark State Park east of Williston, ND.
I am still very new with night photography...:)
^^^^ Raul I have seen your truck on this forum, and it is an awesome rig! I might stick with the same size tires, my main concern is not bottoming out with such a tall tire. While I am new to this I do want to do stuff on the harder side of off roading. Nothing like rock crawling the Rubicon...

Thank you!
With the 20' wheels how much taller can I or should I go? I see ppl putting 35's but it is usually on a 15'-17" tire. Would putting on a taller tire be worth it?
I'll keep that in mind. Have you heard any good things about Thrush mufflers? There is a guy in town that said he would take out the resonator and stock muffler and replace it with a Thrush muffler for under $200.
This is my truck, '13 FX4 5.0L, my daughter gave it the name Big Blue. It has a 2" leveling kit and the previous owner put 275/65r20 Duratac tires on it. This will be a slow methodical build and will start with very small upgrades such as new tires as mine are about at that point, spray in...
