Entirely stock, other than a little bigger tires that were on it when I got it a few years ago. It performs amazing off road in stock form. I only wheeled it a half dozen times. It runs down the freeway at 80+ with no issues, wobbles, or weird noises...
No, just a normal open diff.
I have since got myself a 4wd FJ cruiser and I'll admit it's way more capable, especially with a rear locker. But there are times where a sign is posted saying 4wd recommended where it really isn't needed. The best thing is just learning the limits of your vehicle...
Just updated the Android app and noticed the map base layer icons don't appear to be correct. I will attach a screenshot of it so it's easy to see what I mean. I'm fairly certain a Facebook icon shouldn't be a base layer representation. Just thought I'd let someone know.
I just noticed you guys added the border crossing resource to maps that has a gate for the icon. I have been wondering for a while if a gate resource was going to be added. This is a little different than a border crossing I think. Quite often when I go out overlanding I run into a gate that I...
Not sure it's a bug but it's kinda a problem. Whenever I try to change the layers on the map, it tells me to upgrade. I was grandfathered in by being a member before whatever the cutoff date was. As I understand it, there are still some features you HAVE to pay for with subscription. That's fine...
Well I don't have that problem but if you say what phone you have and which version of your OS and the app you have, someone else might be able to help you. Maybe try completely uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
Looks like a bug. I can see your membership number on your account so it obviously knows you're a member. Maybe uninstall and reinstall? What phone are you using?
ok so lets say I do find a donor vehicle. What in particular should I look for to make sure it can be made standalone and will work right? And what all would I have to rip out of that vehicle? I understand how the system works essentially with the wheel speed sensors, the control module to...
So I have this build that I am planning for one day far in the future that involves putting a Cummins R2.8 engine in an FJ40 with dynatrac Jeep JK Axles (which have wheel speed sensors and disc brakes all around). I occasionally do research/planning for it here and there but for the last couple...
So I have very little experience with solid axles to be honest, but I believe ISS gets a bad wrap from a lot of people because it's "unreliable". However, when ISS first started becoming popular, it may have been less reliable than a solid axle and it's more complex. But over the years ISS has...
I agree the auto is better in most cases and the manual is more reliable, but that's not the conversation I was hoping to have with this thread. I already know all that.
Interesting discussion above however. While I had seen the higher overdrive gears for these higher count trans, I hadn't...
I'm liking the looks and off road potential of the 2 door. The 4 door looks a bit to much like a Land Rover in my opinion. Excited to see these out in the wild though. Looks like they have modability in mind so some cool aftermarket support should be coming
Hey all,
I was just discussing with some friends earlier the benefits of having something like a 10 speed trans vs something like a 4 speed trans for on road use. It seems some people don't quite understand what having more gears mean, assuming more gears mean lower or higher rpm? Which makes...
