Bald Eagle State Forest - recommendation needed for a day trip

I drive all through Bald Eagle with my cute ute Jeep. Avoid Henstep, SharpBack, Poe Paddy Dr, Paddy Mountain. If you see the drivable trail sign...stay away if you like, but you would be fine. Search my name here, I got lots of info for Bald eagle. If you are in the book of faces, check out...

Those fancy mapping apps will not save you...

My son and I are making YouTube videos of our adventures using paper maps and such. I really like Avenza, because it is like a paper map on your device.

    PA Over Landing Opportunities

Tuscarora and Rothrock. Being in Belleville you are right between them. Search my name. I got lots of info on both. I suggest site 2in Rothrock. Site 20 in Tuscarora. You can find all the campsites here. https://maps.dcnr.pa.gov/bof/camping/

    Suggestions BESF & Surrounding Areas

I may know a thing or two about that area. Search my name and you will see a few posts about the area. Purple Lizard Maps have a Pine Creek map that has Tioga and Tiadaghton on it, and the east side of Sproul. The Moshannon map has the west side. I affectionately call the area in between, THE...

Moods of Overland is my favorite... I watch a few others if they happen to be in Central PA.

    NEBDR

That is how I scout campsites and drivable trails. Spend the night in a Motel with a pool so the wife and kids are interested in tagging along and there is very little chance of finding campsites occupied.

After a few years researching and sharing info about "overlanding" in PA I made some friends...and this past weekend got to meet them in real life. And after years of being asked questions about where to go, I lead a group in a trail ride. @DesmosDromos of Moods of Overland YouTube was a long...

After years of researching and mapping and camping and scouting Central PA, I finally got to meet the people who have been communicating with me about the hobby for years I was offered a chance to attend the Mid Atlantic Overland Festival and help out in the Purple Lizard Maps vendor tent...

    Forbes State forest.

I have been very behind on my updates! Been an awesome adventure season this year. I never really was an "overlander", but this is a great place for one. We camped 7 nights here and it very well may be the best trip we had been on. We scouted the forest out back in winter! But, we just got...
