    Upcoming Trip- Vehicle Advice

In 2024 I'm afraid any expectation that you will buy a road worthy and off road worthy vehicle for $5k that you can drive across the USA is extraordinarily optimistic, bordering on unrealistic. Drive what you've got, pay attention to what you really cannot do that the opportunity actually...

12 volt lunch box oven - Recipies and how do you like it or not?

I have one exactly like your picture that I used when working. It's biggest downside is lack of temperature control, but it DOES get hot so you just have to regulate time. If you put frozen stuff in it, it would burn part of it before all of it thawed, so you will want to start with thawed food...

Portable power station to power trailer systems??

If you want single port plug in for all your 12v needs and then build the distribution system Into the trailer you will want an XT60 30a port on it like is found on a Pecron E1500lfp

    Spare Tire

I wouldn't carry the weight without the benefit of being able to use it with impunity. A little googling should answer your "Will it fit?" question, if getting underneath and having a look doesn't answer the question. If you're still uncertain take one off the truck and see if it fits. I...

    Airing down Falken Wildpeaks AT3W

I wouldn't go under 20psi with any brand tire unless some type of bead retention is utilized (bead lock or proven substitute like Method) if I planned on any steep obstacles. You can get away much lower on conventionally designed wheels until you start side loading and then it's coming off...

20 gal aux fuel tank installed on trailer.

I didn't for the reasons I stated earlier (legal and mechanical). I connect a12v fuel pump to the AN fitting on top and pump it off to the filler neck. The fittings on the tank I linked are pick up, return and vent( vent has roll over check ball. I keep the pick up and return capped and vent is...

What is your favorite Go-To knife for overlanding.

Did either of you have a man-bun? JK Benchmade will sharpen your knife for free for life if you need that and send it to them. Personally I do not.

20 gal aux fuel tank installed on trailer.

Make a hole or use longer plumbing, I don't know you'll have to figure that out, but I can tell you that you don't want fuel plumbed from your trailer to your truck. If you want it in your trailer use marine outboard tanks and just put them on top of your cover when you want to transfer fuel.

20 gal aux fuel tank installed on trailer.

It opens right? When transferring fuel from the back of the truck bear in mind static energy that will build up in metallic and some non-metallic components while you are going down the road. Use a bond wire to discharge static before transferring fuel and be mindful of fumes in the...

20 gal aux fuel tank installed on trailer.

You want a wet fuel connection to your trailer? No you don't. I would advise you to put it in the bed of the truck. Illegal in most places to gravity feed gasoline from auxiliary. Plumbing into the existing system will almost certainly cause problems with the tank pressure sensor and likely the...

    Non Lethal self protection

LOL, the pointy end of a spear definitely qualifies as "lethal". I put an aluminum cap and a big screw in carbide traction bolt in the butt end of mine to serve as a translator, persuader and glass breaker.
