UPDATE 11.01.20 Mojave National Preserve Facelift/Trail Guardian Event
In conjunction with the National Park Service, Overland Bound will be conducting a clean up of the Death Valley Mine and Kessler Springs area. The Death Valley Mine was abandoned several years ago and is in need of some work, Dave Nichols Mojave Preserve Park Archaeologist will be on site Saturday to help determine what items are of historic value and what is garbage. All garbage will be loaded into a dumpster provided by NPS. The Kessler Springs area was impacted heavily by the Dome Fire that burned 43K acres. We will be helping to do some cleanup at the barn and corral that were built around 1900.
Hopefully we will set the groundwork for a larger Preserve wide FaceLift event March of 2021. This event could involve additional user groups such as; Motorcycle, Hunters, Equestrian, Hikers, Rock Hounds and general Desert Lovers.
