For the uniqueness factor you would have it in spades. 4wd to boot. However, I would expect that you would need to be handy at sourcing spares and parts as well as handy with a wrench.
Probably go anywhere a stock Subaru could go, but that approach angle is way crazier than even a Vanagon or Eurovan.
