Last weekend I stayed on Yellow Gap Rd with my husband, our son, a friend, and our two dogs. Our site had a small creek that my husband cleaned up and we played in the whole time! We found crayfish and Eastern Spotted newts! There was also a trail that led up to a fern field. We made a trip out to Moore Cove Falls because it's just beautiful and our friend Brian had never been. It's a short easy hike with some steps that lead to a waterfall flowing over a cave that you can go behind. We found a rare Pitcher Plant growing along the way. We made cinnamon buns for breakfast, bbq chicken and veggies, and potato hash all over the campfire. Lots of coffee and snacks. We had a great game of risk... that I won :)
