We are planning a West by Southwest overland trip from August 22nd thru September 6th. We have about 4-5 vehicles committed throughout different legs of the trip. The first leg will be Texas to Colorado August 22nd -29th. Our plan is to make our way through the southern part of Colorado to the Telluride area. Afterwards a couple of vehicles will head back to Texas. August 29th We will continue the second leg to Moab, the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and Santa Fe area before heading back to Texas. We'd love for other OB members to join us, especially those familiar with the area. It can be for ever how long y'all can make it out. As always please let us know of the best places to venture to if you have any in mind!

Sounds epic!

Some of us will already be in that area of Colorado at that time. Maybe we could hook up!

(We are likely to go longer since the Expo cancelled.)

Do you have a more detailed itinerary of what days you plan to be where?

Have you considered creating such a Rally Point event to promote your trip? Let me know if I can help.

Yes sir, working on that now. I'm hoping to have some way points created here in the next week or so.

Is this a current event? We would definitely be interested in meeting up at some point. We won't be leaving Texas until the 22nd though.

Yes, it's just a big handful of folks doing our thing. It's not as big as it might sound, however.

Originally, they were going to save the last part of the week for the Expo, but since it postponed they'll probably increase the stay in the area. (I'm actually headed to the area tomorrow for an early trip.)

Also, consider carefully which region you put your Rally Point in. CO & UT are Rocky Mountain. I believe AZ & NM are Southwest. I believe TX may be in a 3rd. I may request a feature to allow RPs to be cross-posted.

I'm not familiar with setting way points yet (on my list to do) so thanks for the heads up! I'll definitely spend a good amount learning the system here in OB. The good news though is that our trip is broken up into two legs, in what looks like two different regions, so it should work out perfect. We're really not meeting up anywhere in Texas other than to convoy out as a group.

Looks like a great trip! I'm heading to Colorado, Utah, Idaho Montana and Wyoming in a couple of weeks. Let me know if you want any map files for the Ouray, Telluride and Silverton area. Have fun!

Here is a fun little road with great views and places to camp:

We'll take whatever you got! This is all uncharted territory for us! This is what I love about the OB community! Thank you!

Tracks Across Borders is a pretty cool stretch of road to get to Durango from NM. Lots of stuff to see along the route

My apologies for not following up on this trip. It's been a crazy few months with work and life. We did make it to Colorado though and currently through the first week. We'll be here until September 5th, abandoning the Utah and New Mexico part of the trip... it's just too dang hot! Anyone wanting to meet up please let me know. We'll be tackling Telluride and Ouray starting Monday!

I'll be heading south in New Mexico but I've been up in the northern part for about a month total. If you need any information about the North Central Part of New Mexico let me know.

We're not going to make it out to Utah, enjoying this Colorado weather way too much before we head back to the unbearable heat in Central Texas.

The normal group of us from Texas will be in the Cloudcroft area staring Sept 4 and staying in the area till the 7th. Feel free to hook up with us in central New Mexico. The weather is low 70s to high 40s right now
And the high 40s for some reason seemed really cold I have to add little heat to tent in the a.m.
