I looked up the tent you spoke of and it looks nice and roomy for a family but I think it will be heavy. I used canvas tents a long time ago in a place far far away before nylon was widely used. The canvas would mold and mildew when put away even a little damp. Never did that intentionally and would swear it was dry but still happened...
If you haven't seen the Gazelle line of tent you should have a look at them before deciding. I bought the T3X this year and it's roomy! They're hard to find so if you do decide you want one and can find it in stock BUY IT! I canceled one order after waiting 6 months last year and picked one up at the East Coast expo.
