A buddy and I will be doing a day trip up Palomar Mtn Road.


Although I have been there a few times, I haven't yet used comms up there.

Anyone know of a good frequency to use?

We both have the small Baofeng (ugh why cant I post a link lol)

Not sure what radio you have but if its UHF use 146.52 - 147.585 (simplex) frequencies.

Do you have your ham radio license?

If so, the 2m frequency that has come to be used by most overlanders out here in the West is 146.460. Those Baofengs can get you into trouble if you do not have your license and are not familiar with the band plan. I don't recommend using them unless you know how to do so legally, without causing interference, and within your licensed spectrum.

Yep Im aware of the risks. A buddy from another site gave me these.
153.380 worked perfect for us.
