Looking at adding a 270degree awning but not sure which side to put it on. Leaning towards driver side but I could see an advantage to passenger side too.
???
Looking for feedback on the matter, pro's and cons to each. What is / isn't working for you all.
Thanks in advance.

I can't think of a pro / con for what side unless you plan on RTT or shower, etc. Also, is there an easier side to get to storage boxes or other rack mount stuff? Lighting? Cook area coverage?
Other than that, I feel it's just a preference thing.

The passenger side is the typical side for camper access, sidewalks, pull-in or pull-through campsites, etc... I recall someone else on OB saying they wish they would have picked passenger after putting it on the drivers side.

Usually passenger side for the reasons posted above, but mostly depends on your setup:
  • do you have a RTT that opens on a specific side?
  • do you need to access some stuff on the roof while at camp?
  • do you have a rear bumper with a single swing out?

Good answer; in particular, consider the rear opening of the vehicle. If it's a swing-out rear door, then you don't want to have to step around it into the rain to get from one covered area to the other.

I have mine on the passenger side (I'm in Australia so that is the left). A lot of the time, when I do HAM radio fieldwork I wish it was on the other side so I could just pull off the road and have the open side towards the trail.
