This is a question about your rig, not your bedroom activities :openmouth:

I've been using ratchet straps on my roofrack to hold things down. They are strong but I'm beginning to hate them. The mechanism gets covered in sand, the straps are easy to twist up and it just makes loading and unloading the roof a time-consuming chore.

I'm in the market for something that's just as strong but much quicker and easier to tie down and release. Please share some recommendations!

I use rachet straps. I am sure I do not have the sand issues you have, but when they get I hose them down with high pressure, dry them and treat with WD-40. It does make them last longer. Also I buy them at Harbor Freight, about every 2-3 months they have them on sale. I just brought four 15' straps for $8 last week.

Depending on the weight of what your holding down, lashing straps might work for you.
