What should I check out in CT?

My wife and I are planning a trip through CT in late October. We are following this Fall Foliage route, starting at #1. We are hoping to get some info on spots we should check out while we're there. We will be up there 10/26-29. Anything you think we should check out would be greatly appreciated. I plan to hopefully find some easy trails but don't want to get too far out there since we'll be by ourselves. Thanks in advance.

I'm moving to Washington, CT (I think it's in between #1 and #2 on the link you had) in a couple of weeks. I'll let you know if I find anything out that way in the couple of months before your trip. Just keep in mind that New England (especially southern New England) is not known for being off-road friendly.
