What auxiliary items do you have? Where did you mount your switches?

Hello all,

I'm planning on getting a light bar either hidden behind the grille, or on the roof rack. In addition, an awning light and a few more amenities. However, I was wondering what other auxiliary items do you have?

Also, where did you guys opt to mount your switches? I ask because I figure there aren't that many extra factory mount locations.

Thanks!

another option is the sPOD. They make a number of truck specific units but also many general units. I compared both the sPOD and Switch Pros. For a novice doing wiring and adding accessories, SPOD was much easier.

And by novice, I meant me. I just wanted simple and neat.

I've got the sPOD HD panel in my Defender, switches taken up as follows
1. ARB compressor
2. Front Locker
3. REar Locker
4. master power cut off to winch
5. MAster power to Engel fridge
6. Front Bull Bar Lights (Hella Rallye 4000 LED
7. Wilson Cell Amp master power
8. Empty

sPODs look REALLY nice, but are pricey..... but they do look good... hmmm..
Its true- but it makes everything so much easier to manage, swap out and add new things (which I promise you will want to do!). Look at some sPOD videos on youtube, there are so many ways to mount the "brains" of the unit. Under a seat, under the hood etc. And the nicest thing is its solid state- so its a really stable platform for all sorts of electronics. If you just want to wire two things, maybe its overkill. BUT if you want to expand its worth its weight in gold. Just my experience and opinion...

Hmm, thanks for the link! That looks neat!! How did you mount this?
They have a surface mount which just has 2 small screws on the side to attach it to a dash or console and they have a flush mount option which requires cutting a hole to recess the panel.

That looks quite cool. How does it affect cabin air flow? And I'm guessing it only shoots straight out...
The flow from those vents is very weak (even before I installed the pods). The bulk of air comes from the side vents by the doors and the floor vents. I still get air through the new pods (I installed two of them) and yeah it just blasts straight out.... not something I think about as it doesn't seem to make a real difference.
