I suck at making trip reports, and honestly, I don't even know if I can afford it this year (I just bought a bigger car and am saving up for a trip to the US), but if it happens, I will do my best to create a trip report for this forum.

I'd love to buy everything on my overlanding wish list so I can just about travel to any location. Suspension is a whole other monster, so that might happen early 2018.

As far as trips I have a couple that will take me over most of Southern California and a little bit of Utah. I really really want to complete them all this year so I can make a better list for 2018.

Our "plans", buy a new-to-us Jeep unlimited.
Sell the GMC Sierra 2500hd.
Get our passports so we can hit the road south to the US (wife has never been to that side of the States). Thinking Utah, AZ, Nevada etc.

If funds permit, we'd like to get a teardrop type setup.

4. Winch
5. RTT if I can afford it this year

No major trips planned this year. Get out as many weekends as possible exploring the foothills of the Alberta Rockies.

Finally decided on a lift as well as a bumper and winch combo. Very excited to have that coming! Now to be patient and then install it. After that some fun trips!

My goal is to find a setup that my wife will find satisfactory to go camping with me. Since you guys don't know my wife, I should let you know that those with the goal of winning a lottery have better odds.

My idea of camping is the middle of no where. Hers is the Hilton. So to succeed I must find a setup with a real bathroom and shower that can go anywhere. It must also be in my budget. I don't even know what is in my budget. The Bruder trailer would do it I think except for the budget part. Oh well. Everyone needs a goal and this is mine.

My plans are

1) GOBI Rack
2) Lift
3) Poison Spyder front and rear bumpers
4) winch
5) Additional recovery gear
I'd love to have a Gobi for my Xterra, it'll come in the future. Additional recovery gear is ALWAYS a plus! I want to get a 4 ton come along and an inertia rope to go with my tow strap and tree saver. I'd like to do some sand driving this year if I get the chance to try it, never driven on sand before!

next step is to transition from active duty to air national guard down at march afb in riverside ca (in works)

oh and as for the jeep I just ordered a 4" short arm lift, a tcase skid and new general grabber x3s in the 33/12.50/15 variety and some new 15x8" steelies, also sell the current bumpers and buy new hkoffroad equipment, and some steel to make new rear bumpers and install my new custom rockers/sliders

heres to hoping all goes well
