Does anyone have any suggestions when it comes to vehicle alarms? I am concerned that the standard factory or viper won't protect the bed or camper from intrusion. Is there a proximity alarm y'all are using? I am picking my Go Fast Camper up in a few months and want to prepare for the install.

I have a Viper system and works great. It has a sensitivity control. If set too high it triggers on anything and can be very annoying. Even a bird landing on the truck, a twig falling off a tree, gunshot, fireworks, thunder, a rig driving by too close that makes the ground shake. The last thing you are going to want is your alarm going off and disturbing fellow campers with false triggers. Especially if you get a false trigger and you are not around to disable it. If your considering a proximity alarm any critter is going to trigger it. The Viper is my first line of defense. Triggers on a breakin and disables the starter. I also have several different size Pelican cases that can be locked and secured in the truck with concealed chains for personal valuables, firearms, etc. When boondocking I set up a trail cam covering the campsite. A picture is worth a thousand words to a Park Ranger especially if you get a tag number.

I have been thinking about security for my camper shell as well. I have a Viper alarm, but not currently hooked up to the camper shell door/window. So for now I'm going to try this intermediate solution so I can monitor the shell.

While parked at home, the dashcam can connect to my WiFi. When parked it has a parking monitor function. We'll see how this goes...

Just a quick warning on the parking monitor. The doors on these GMT800 trucks are so heavy that it'll trip the monitor every time ever in/out of the truck. Not a huge annoyance but just remember to clear the SD card every few weeks

Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully this unit has an option to loop the memory or at least alert me if the memory is full.
