I love using beach umbrellas as a quick and movable sunshade. The last couple of years I’ve been using the Tommy B from Costco, cheap and if they blow out I get them replaced. They don’t look like most overlanding fashion but I prefer fiction over fashion. I have awning that also provides shelter from the sun and weather. Does anybody else use them?

Funny story about that... I ran into a bunch of pre-runner/desert truck type dudes in the Mojave who used them for similar reasons. One guy just had a piece of PVC pipe stuck into the bed stake pocket of his truck and could just plunk an umbrella in there and sip on a bud light in the shade. It was hilarious and awesome.

Sure, I loan to folks that don’t have sunshades too. They are about $20.00 so if they diaper it’s not mission or wallet critical.

I like using a quick shade , usually on sale you can find them for 50$ and they give a lot of portable shade or here in the pnw protection from the rain .

I have a beach umbrella, too. Works great, and with the cork-screw like tip I can get it into just about any type of soil and it stays put.
