While working on my build it has become apparent that sometimes having knowledgable other persons to bounce ideas off is a benefit.

I wonder if there is any way to utilise the great community here to make this a more accessible thing.

I.E. - a kind of 'Ask the Expert' area where people can sound out ideas before wasting money/time or just querying their process / skill requirement.

For example:

"Subject: Custom built awning brackets for XXXX
Query: Bob wants to mount a 270 degree awning on his XXXX. The XXXX doesn't have any bracketry available in the aftermarket. Can anyone advise?"

"Subject:Can you use a 24v inverter with 12v batteries
Query: I've been gifted a 24v inverted made by Durite. Can I use 2 12v leisure batteries with this?"

I just wonder if we have members who can share experience/assist with fabrication or skills/offer parts and might be better approached this way - in a dedicated easier to find sub forum? With members showing their skills as tags/profile markers e.g. fabricator/welder/electrician

Or with members being put on the map offering services? (forgive my ignorance if this already exists in some form).

We have regional members with a vast range of skills from fabricating to vehicle builds to cooking so just shout out.

Throughout the Forums there are places to ask specific questions and this makes finding and referencing easier for everyone however I do also understand that sometimes things get lost and you need a more localised answer to a question and this is where the regional forums can come into their own.

Just as an aside when I create a post in the general forums I start the title with EU then the details ie EU -Whats the Best Radio Comms In The UK as an kind of example.
This makes it easier for members to be more selective on which posts they read. Basically as a UK resident what comms they use in the USA isn't of any relevance to me so I can filter out what I don't need to read and concentrate on posts more relevant to me and my location.

Hope that is reasonably clear but give me a shout if I can explain better.

Exactly what OB is about - share and help.
If anyone needs any help/advice etc... etc... as Dave says above, just shout out and there will bound to be someone with the answer, or knows where to find it.
In a members profile, under account details, you can tick a couple of boxes "OB Responder" and "OB Contact", this then shows up on the members public profile as someone who's happy to be contacted.
