Pack up all the leftovers and hit the trails at Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway for the remainder of the holiday weekend.
4x4, recovery points/gear, minimum 33" AT tires are all recommended.

Good deal! I've done the main loop twice for the most part (Excluding Pumpkin Hollow, the Rock Shelf portion near Fincastle & the E portion south of Callies.) Last time down (late may) one in our group did most of the East Side and was told the Strip Mine trail will be blasted away so I'm interested to see how your scouting goes. That said if you need another rig for scouting I can help out (schedule permitting). I'm only 2.5-3 Hours away from the loop.We have a crew going up in September for map and recon.
