Every bag comes with a 'anti-sag strap' for the last 2 years. Your bag looks older than that before we started adding it. This prevents the bag from sagging.

Emailing me at warranty at trasharoo dot com and we'll send you one for free.

Sure, It is nearly impossible to get the straps tight enough. Beacuse of that, when the trasharoo gets loaded up gravity begins to work and it slides down, way down.
Mine has never slid down, even filled with firewood.

This is my attempt at illustrating my strap routing. The straps (red) run toward the front of the vehicle over the top of the tire then toward the back of the vehicle through the rim spokes.

Here is the update and my verdict:: The Trasharoo is easily among the best camp/vehicle pieces of gear we have ever added to our kit. Now that Dave got that cinch strap out to me in two days, I strapped the bag back up, cinched up the velcro strap and that thing isn't going anywhere.. Great service, great products equals customers for life.. Thanks again Dave.

Hi All,
We have had our trasharoo for a few years now and it has served us well, except for the uncontrollable sagging. There is no way to cinch it up tight enough to prevent sagging. I've watched tutorial vids and I've worked with it way too much to no avail. It became an exercise in frustration. Finally I got it to stay up using a ratchet strap. You can see the blue strap in the photo. The add photo makes it all look so perfect and easy. Personally, I can't wait for "CampCover" products to be available here in the US. The trasharoo will go on fleabay or CL and I'll be first in line to order one of their trash packs.

Its so over priced, even buying locally is daylight robbery. I have a friend in the leather stitching industry that is going to make us some. The Ripstop canvas only cost $10. The shops only try to rip us off.

So THAT is what that strap is for. I thought it was to hang the Trasharoo from trees so that if a bear decides to show up your trash is far from the vehicle. I'll have to look how to utilize the strap and where it goes.

mine has a strap that goes across top of the tire. From what I understand is this added feature is the improvement on the older ones. I have the straps crisscross on the back in front of the spare tire carrier & snugged up tightly. I was concern of it fitting properly on a 215x75Rx15" General Grabber AT II. But it seems to be secured good & like how well constructed the Trasharoo is. I do like South Africa spare tire bag & I wish they sold them here or Trasharoo would come up with a similar bag. I would prefer that over the original Trasharoo.

Trasharoo sags. I’ve had mine for almost two years. Like so many others I load it up with firewood going in and trash coming out. Unfortunately the ability to assemble Ikea furniture without looking at the instructions has given me the useless overconfidence to skip instructions on all things for the first eight tries. However, It’s heart warming to know that I’m installing it correctly. I do cross the straps and thought that strap on top was used to prevent sagging. I also have tried looping one of the straps around a cross tube on my ARB tire carrier. It still sags.

Last two trips I have used a ratchet strap around the tire to hold it in place. It works amazingly well. I’ve loaded up the Trasharoo with four bundles of firewood and no sag. I’d have to say that hands down after the roof rack it’s the most useful accessory I’ve bought for the Jeep. Despite the color fading and the buckle that broke (because I smashed it in the door) it takes abuse and performs time and time again. I’ve gifted Trasharoo to friends and sang its praises whenever someone asked about it. Best money spent.

I just ran across, and ordered, a great looking Garbage And Recycling Bag (GARB) from North Bound Expeditions in New Brunswick. I was researching the provinces in Atlantic Canada for an upcoming trip (Maritime Canada Expedition) and found their website in another thread here in OB, then poked around their new site.

Check out the vid on their site - looks pretty well thought out as far as functionality and durability.

This thing has a removable divider inside, straps for firewood, several pockets on the outside, weep holes at the bottom, and metal spring buckles to cinch.

Looking forward to receiving it, installing it, and putting it through the wringer all over North America this year.

As for durability, lining, fading, here's what they have on their GARB page:

Our Products are made with high-quality CORDURA nylon and PVC lined fabric held together with UV and ROT treated thread. Like any fabric, the sun and UV rays will lead to fade over time and intensity of exposure. While each item has an initial treatment, it is suggested that customers apply a light spray of a UV shield every 2 months of EXPOSURE to keep their colour longest. We use 303 Protectant, but any UV treatment with an SPF factor will be beneficial.
