Likely not. not sure what the input and output splines are but they are a heavily computer controlled trans. Not to say it cant be done but i have a feeling it would involve swapping and programming a new ECU

This same thought occurred to me a few weeks ago.....after a little research, it is possible. I found this LINK and am considering it perhaps down the line. I have a Grand Cherokee with the 8 speed, and it is a terrific trans to drive. Just need to do more reading.....apparently the 1st gear ratio is quite a bit lower so that is something to fully understand.

EDIT - and apparently that link is broken.....but the swap is out there!

Hey guys can someone tell me if a 2018 Jeep Wrangler 8 speed transmission will fit in a 2012 Jeep Wrangler and if so what mods if any do I need to do. Thanks
Short answer: yes and it's fairly easy!

Well not super easy but still a bolt in swap. Not sure how much kits there are but I'll post a link to a shop that does have one

I'm surprised how straight-forward the swap is. That said, I wonder what the total cost of the project vs. selling an existing JK and buying into a JL/T would be? Either way, I love the ZF8 and have had it in 6 different vehicles ('15 BMW 335i, '16 JGC WK2 5.7, '17 JGC Trailhawk 5.7, '18 JGC Trackhawk 6.2 Supercharged, '22 RAM TRX 6.2 Supercharged) and it was flawless in every single one. Obviously there are many different variants and the SC'ed ones get the 8HP95 but at the end of the day it's amazing the breadth of vehicles that the ZF8 can be tuned and built perfectly for.
