The family and I will be in SLC for a few nights as we visit my brother in two weeks. We will be taking the Jeep this time and would like to do some small day trips out to the mountains and see some of the scenery. I have been searching google earth and gaia gps to track down some tracks/forest roads that would get us to the top of a mountain. (We are from MN so we have no mountains). I am seeing American Fork Canyon has many forest roads that are open but I am now asking anyone with knowledge, what we are to expect. Can I drive up to 11600 feet on FR193? Or is it blocked off? .... I am also seeing FR007, and Mary Ellen Gulch (FR111).
Our Jeep is a '17 JKUR w/ stock suspension. It would be nice to drive on something more technical but not outright crazy rock crawling.
If there area any other routes that are a short distance from SLC, let me know!
