My wife and I took a trip through Texas. We mostly stayed at Texas State Parks but also included a great wheeling park near Marble Falls, Tx called Hidden Falls Adventure Park. I cannot recommend it highly enough. As for staying at state parks, we liked:
  • Pedernales Falls State Park
  • Hidden Falls Adventure Park
  • Colorado Bend State Park
  • Buescher State Park
We were out for 6 days and covered about 1300 miles. It was a successful trip because my wife didn't kill me in the process.Tour de Texas Map.jpg pedernales.jpg Hidden Falls 01.jpg Hidden Falls 02.jpg colorado bend.jpg

That's a fun little loop, right about now is also when you'll want to swing to the west a bit for a hike through Lost Maples SP and Garner SP in Conan for the leaves changing and the cooler weather chasing away the crowds. Fredericksburg is also nice this time of year.

Yes. We love Lost Maples. We have a family place in Leakey so Concan is a regular visit for us. There are some fun areas to explore out there.
