I know that I am super late in responding to this thread, so apologies. I ended up buying a Snugtop Rebel with the Sportsmans package to handle 500# on top. Haven't thrown the tent on yet, but plan on doing so soon.

I also built a custom unistrut roof rack to handle the tent. Saved me $500 and provides full modularity!IMG_0264.jpgIMG_0267.jpgIMG_0268.jpgIMG_0269.jpg

Just want to throw this out there. This is what I did to carry my RTT, and save some cash. I went to the local junkyard and bought a set of factory stock roof rack cross bars, to add to my Two existing cross bars. Works great so far too. Vance.

I was going to say I have the ARE Overland topper and enjoy it as well. I won't be putting a RTT on it not because I don't it can't handle it, I just prefer a ground tent for our family of 5. Plus I already have a roof rack on top of the topper. When I am by myself, then I can definitely sleep inside the topper no problem.
