If you have extra time, the Old Montan Prison in Deer Lodge is fun Old Montana Prison As well as Fairmont Hot Springs Fairmont Hot Springs Resort
There is also ghost towns nearby at Southern Cross 46.21018, -113.23642 and Granite 46.31682, -113.24649 and Garnet 46.82531, -113.33910 as you get closer to Missoula. My kids love exploring them.
There is also Gem Mountain Mine further west 46.24737, -113.59195 where you can mine sapphires and head down into the Bitterroot valley on the beautiful Skalkaho Pass.
As you can see, no shortage of stuff to write home about!

I'm watching this thread, we are looking for an adventure July 20-28th or so.

The North Idaho/Eastern WA meet up is going to Glacier July 19-21st, you could piggyback that trip and this one and see some amazing things

Go west towards Butte on Interstate 90
Exit before Deer Lodge, exit 195 (Race Track Rd)
Head north on the frontage road on the west side of Interstate 90 for 3.5 Miles
Turn left (west) on Sager Lane follow it for 1.5 Miles and take a right on Dempsey Lake Road
Follow Dempsey Lake Road for 3.7 miles, turn right on Perkins Road
Follow Perkins Road for 0.1 miles, Turn Right up a dirt road called Dempsey Creek Road
Follow Dempsey Creek Road for 7.2 miles to the campsite (46.31699, -112.92371) for Caruther's Lake.
