I ran a hayden 678 (slightly smaller than the 679) on my Colorado (same transmission), and it still shifted like new when I got rid of it at 196k.

It's a great cheap mod you can do.

That's one of the reasons I choose the 679 and some of the other upgrades. Eventually the Pearl will be towing an all terrain travel trailer set up for boondocking behind it. Which will be torture for the transmission and brakes.

Currently she has developed an issue with not wanting to completely shift out of 3rd. It'll hang and bounce the RPMs for a little bit unless I go ahead and give it a little more throttle. When the transmission cooler gets installed. I was planning on flushing the tranny, changing the filter, fluid, and thinking about looking for a finned transmission pan (or maybe making one). Hopefully that combined with replacing all the vacuum lines the shift issue will be taken care of.

If you cant tell, this poor little truck isn't going to have an easy life. But it will be a glorious one.
