Short weekend trip to June Lake with the family. Managed a day trip to Bodie, unhitched. Great drive but need to reconsider how to transport the dogs over dusty roads. With the softopper mesh screen, too much dust in the back for them...
Swapped out the Softopper for a SnugTop Rebel with Yakima tracks just before the holidays. I opted for dual sliding windows with pet screens since this seemed to provide the greatest ventilation possible (otherwise would have opted for the windoors). Added the Yakima load bars for a trip up to Vancouver, BC to visit family and do some downhill. Very happy with the SnugTop, except that a couple of bulblets from the top rear brake light are not working. Will look into getting this fixed soon.
EDIT: If anyone is interested in the Softopper, please PM me. I'm willing to sell it for half off the new price. It's like new and less than a year old.
TAConqueror will soon become Conquerado. First test drive of the Conqueror hitched up with the Colorado ZR2 turbo-diesel. Sub-2000 RPM uphill - this is the right drivetrain for me! And matching paint too! This is how she sat out of the box, no mods. More impressions to come.
