Hey everyone. Just a quick question. I want to buy a trd pro grill but there are oem grills and fake grills. The fake ones are half the price. Does anyone know the diffrence between them? I assume there both plastic. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Many of the good knock-off ones are nearly equivalent quality to the OEM grille. If you are in a 2018 or later I strongly suggest the OEM just because that's where the radar sensor is and messing with that system can be a headache.

Ok great. Im in a 2016. Ill probably go with a knock-off then. For half the price.

Pop over to Tacoma world. There's some good threads on that. One of the venders there found an aftermarket that works and is (was) selling those. Most of the aftermarket created issues with the sonar and/or had mounting issues. Toyota raised the price on the OE ones and some dealers wouldn't order you one unless you provided a TRD vin number. The go around on that was pull a vin off one and give them that.

I see you posted same time as mine. The only issue then would be mounting

I don't have a Taco, but my experience in general is that aftermarket parts don't always fit as good as OEM. I've seen aftermarket grills where there are gaps where there shouldn't be or clips don't align, etc.
