So, I have about a half dozen of these aluminum crates at my disposal. Presently I use a couple on my expo trailer to store hard gear such as my propane stove, Lanterns, hand tools, and propane fire pit. I want to convert one to a standing camp kitchen using the lid as the work surface and the box as storage, possibly with some compartments or shelving. I was curious if any one else here uses these boxes and what for.

I also want a find a few sets of the Brenner legs pictured below. USGOV paid about $20 per set. Feelers I have put out to surplus dealers return prices ranging from $75-$100 per set. I am not in that bad of a need for them but if anybody sees a set or two laying around, I'd be willing to do at least $40 per set. Shoot me a PM.

Possibly, if the legs were just .5x1.0 stamped steel or aluminum. However there are some intricate cuts on the ends and the sliding lock that secures the whole set up. That's reverse engineering beyond my range.

They are out there, laying on shelves in surplus and antique stores. A set will turn up one day

You could design a cutting board surface to mount to the lid. I personally like the bamboo cutting boards, but they make some really nice composite ones now. Compartments and such should be easy enough to make. I may have to look for one of these myself. I was recently given a nice camp stove with the oven attachment. And we have a few surplus store around here, I'll try to keep my eyes out for a set of legs.
