That's good to know, you've got some knowledge!! Any other tid bits are welcome, I just put on a grub and chuck it in the ocean and pray.

I only fly fish the surf. I like to wade up to my knees, and cast, and strip in a fan pattern. Once you get a strike, keep hitting that same spot. The perch like bright orange colors. I'll send a picture of some of my surf flies later. I'll fish the hour before first am high tide. I don't like the wave height taller than a 3.5. I'll use a quick sink line to get the fly down fast. I'm only casting about 30' or so into the surf. As for regular fishing, I would think it'd be about the same.
All good stuff!! I don't fly fish....but I would like to give it a shot! I will definitely try some bright colors. Thanks for all the info!!

Those are some nice perch. 29 for 29....almost seems too easy!
