when i was working overseas, we needed good rugged cases for shipping our dive gear and pretty much everyone was going to military auctions and getting cases. the military has cases specially made for gear and when the gear is obsolete, so is the case and it goes to an auction site. sometimes you can find a very unique size that you won't find otherwise. here is one link, but there are several more if you google it

That's what I have and they are durable as hell. Not particularly easy to secure ("locking" is normally a wire and hasp) but if you're tossing them in the back of an SUV or have a cap/tonneau, they're a fantastic choice.

I feel like at Roam's prices, I'd rather just wait for Pelican's CARGO cases to drop. They're only slightly more and the mounting solutions look really good.
I was going to do the same until I looked at the dimensions of the Cargo cases by Pelican. The shortest one is like a foot tall - Not even close to low profile for a roof cargo box.
