Unless your current rig is causing you issues I say start with that. explore test the waters see what you like and dont like and work from there. Like others have a said don't get hung up on what you have to start with and try to keyboard over land buying a new rig, gear ect. just garb some stuff and go out for a night, then two nights ect. Then repeat as often as possible.
