When I purchased my Nittos I only got 4, when I realized if I needed the spare I called and they said I was lucky as there were only 2 left nation wide… so hindsight I should have ordered all 5.
I tried purchasing 5 35 inch BFG KM3s a month or two ago and none were available anywhere (Discount Tire); ended up getting 315 70/R17s which are pretty much the same thing. The "tire guy" said the 35s had been backordered for a long long time. Recently purchased a lift for my truck and there were slim pickings for available shocks. In both cases I got what I could get and am lucky that the available options were fine. I have been thinking ahead and buying things that I will need in the next year or so and making quite a pile ;)

Anybody else watching prices go up on the items that they desire? Another reason to buy now...

Yes- I purchased an auxiliary fuel tank from Long Range America, last September. The tanks are built in Australia. The installation shop I chose will receive it next week. The current price is 10% higher than just last Sept. Purchased a high end RTT in 2019 and the price is the same. It depends what one buys as I’ve noticed the cost of low end stuff has gone way up. Top shelf stuff has
Remained stable: to the OP, I wouldn’t drive to the grocery store without a matching spare tire.

For overlanding, all five. For normal stuff, just four, and anything that holds air for a spare
