South Utah Dispersed Camping

Hello, fellow overlanders, I am planning a trip to Utah this summer and looking for ideas, insights, and locations for off-grid / dispersed camping and great places to visit, will be traveling from Salt Lake City south to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon to Lake Powell, Monument Valley, and Arches National Park before heading back to Salt Lake City, we have about 6 days and could use some help planning, may try to stay away from the major tourist areas listed above if we can find other interesting places to explore, we are from the East Coast and this will be our first trip out west. Looking forward to your insight!

Hi, yes, we are planning on hiking in Arches National Park, so will be looking for a good campsite near Moab the night before.

These are two really good spots! The first image is the one along Gemini and you camp in a little valley area with great canp spots that are pretty spacious and secluded. It is just a sketchy road on a cliff to get there though.
The second picture is the other one a little more East of Moab and it's a pretty larger flat area that gives you a nice quiet area with a pretty good sunset. And there are cows lol. The road is also very flat.

Just south of Moab, just past Hole in the Rock, is Kane Creek, on the right hand side. We camped there last year for our base camp. Lots of trees around and not too far from town.

The hike to Peek-a-boo and Spooky slot canyons is quite nice. We spent two nights out in the area and the tourists clear out by late afternoon. The side by sides really do a number on the roads but Grand Escalante isn't as crazy as Arches and Moab. There are also lots of petroglyphs and pictographs in Utah if that's something you are in to.
