SoCal to Colorado Springs Septemper 2017

Greetings all! I wanted to reach out for some advice in regards to routes that people have some experience within the UT/CO area. I will be traveling to Colorado Springs in early September and would like to make a portion of the drive via dirt vs just buzzing along the highway the entire time. Would love if someone had a route/routes they loved that spent some decent time in the dirt and traveling in that general direction.

I will be traveling in my FZJ80 with a mild lift, rack, fuel/water, 285 Ko2s and we will have friends coming with us in their 2015 4Runner similarly set up.

Any and all help /insight is greatly appreciated!

Sorry just seeing this. We left the bay area mid June. Moab was HOT, white rim was even hotter. Something to consider.

We will be there around the 9/10 of September. Hoping fall kicks in a bit then and cools it off a touch. Thanks for the info!
