It looks like a Ram Mount, and "Gaia GPS".

Not all iPad's have GPS chips in them. You may have to tether it to your iPhone to get it to work if your iPad doesn't have a cellular card in it.
Only 3G or LTE models have "GPS", WiFi Only models require you to tether.
Or so Google tells me...

Correct. I learned that the hard way with my iPad. I have to tether it to my iPhone to get it to work.

I don't know if some of the older iPads had built in GPS's or not. I worded it the way I did, not knowing what model you had. :)

Correct, RAM Mount, GAIA app running in iPad mini. And I am using a "DUAL GPS BLUETOOTH" receiver to send the GPS signal to my wifi only iPad.

Works GREAT!
