  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance this week and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

Should have it back in the Blazer Monday or Tuesday depending when my sister's husband can lend a hand to lift it back in. Tight fit with the welded in crossmember for the rear suspension.

Will be working on my next project bashing up a center console. Thinking Ammo cans for Arm rests. Similar to this photo off the web, but will be going a different route for the front half....

Once the holiday season is done I'll get more serious about this center console.

Have a Merry Christmas and happy New Year everyone!!!

Merry Christmas and happy new year back to ya!

Ammo cans make nice compartments, but if you wanted a single larger space, you could use a Kobalt/Craftsman/Stanley or other high-quality tool box as the console. There are also inserts to organize these tool boxes, so you could have multiple layers inside the big box, or still use ammo cans as removable compartments inside the big box.

The primary thing is that you need space to be able to open the console. Ammo cans do fit nicely between the seats in these smaller trucks.

You and your family have a guide new years weekend as well!

That's a great idea, I might look into some options for a toolbox center console as well as the ammo cans.

Hopefully this weekend I'll get out and take some measurements of the dimensions I, working with and work on some designs for the center console. But the right tool box could make an interesting center console if I can find one that will fit my needs amd space.

My reasoning for the ammo cans is I have two medium sized ones that appear to be able to be mounted side by side and give driver and passenger their own cubby holes to stash their personal belongings while on trips and offroading.

We'll get some measurements this weekend and go from there this weekend.

Been an interesting holiday season to say the least...,, got the Transfer Case back into the Blazer last Monday after Christmas day. Unfortunately there were a couple family members at Christmas dinner that were a little under the weather then after working on the Transfer Case Monday in -15•C weatheri ended up catching the cold and flu that has been going around. Been a rough week but I'm finally on the mend and back on my feet.

Transfer case is working nicely, although I've only got front wheel drive at the moment, and just heard back about my rear driveshaft. Bad news it's completely destroyed and will cost at minimum $1000 cdn if they can find the parts to rebuild it. Apparently the slip yoke on the shaft is no longer manufactured and has been discontinued. The repair shop has possibly tracked a compatible replacement out of the states they think will work, but might be a few weeks until it arrives and I'll know for sure . So looks like booting around in fwd around town will be the norm for the next couple weeks.

Don't really have far to go, although I was hoping to be able to hit the trails new years day with a local club

Good, good!

Hope your recovery goes well, at least it's nothing serious.

Any idea about that suspension setup? Looking like James Duff for full-size Bronco?
