Original post from Chief of Withlacoochee Regional Search & Rescue, Samuel J. Matychak III:

On Saturday and Sunday, we will be there Conducting a MASSIVE SEARCH to clear as much land as possible to reduce the Possibility of Detection of Mrs. Hartley. If you want to volunteer, make sure you wear something bright in color including a Orange Traffic Vest as there are hunters in the Forest. Also, pack a small day backpack with essential items like extra clothing, personal first aid kit, flashlight, snacks and drinks. We are coordinating with American Red Cross to provide a Canteen Unit to feed the volunteers involved in the search.
Our Base of Operations will be located at the Ocala OHV Trailhead on forest road 11/88 just 2 miles north of County Road 316.
If you have any questions or want more information please contact (941) 786-6565 or (352)843-6733.

What we know for sure right now is the following:
Location: Command Center; 2 miles north of CR 316 on FR 11 (known as FR 88 on google maps.)

Time: 8:00 am will be a pre-search briefing. If you can’t make 8:00 am come out when you can.

They will open the facility for camping Friday and Saturday. Primitive Camping Only, there is a bathroom and shower house on the grounds. I would anticipate the bathrooms and showers to be open.

****
Keep in mind searchers will be asked to walk long distances and need to be prepared for what they may find.
For those of you coming out… THANK YOU!!!

Something doesn’t add up with this. 1st their car broke down @ Trail 66 and 88, that’s directly in the center of ONF. Her friend went for help when she returned she was gone. They didn’t report her missing for 5 days? Not too long ago in the same area a couple were riding a trail and came across 2 Females claiming to have broken down. They pulled a gun, the Male Student was packing waiting for his chance, he was killed in the shootout . Both Robbers were charged with murder.
This area is riddled with crime and drug use, litter and bums living in the forest. We stay clear of that area and if we have to cut across we pack and no stopping to help anyone, we will phone in the location to the Rangers.
Hope she is OK.F7CFEAF5-1ECD-4906-B957-DA35442A3695.jpeg
