San Diego bound for OE West 2019

Here's a standalone thread for those of us driving to Overland Expo West from the San Diego area. I'm currently planning to leave Encinitas early morning May 16 (THUR). I haven't yet plotted out any details, but I may camp THUR night somewhere near Black City Canyon. That's a little north of Phoenix ... many trails and even some free camping options depending on where we go. I'll wake up FRI morning and bang out the rest of the trip to Flagstaff.

Is anybody else interested in doing something similar? It would be cool to caravan and have a fun day/night on the trail before the show.

Update - I’m connecting with the Convoy 40 group leaving SoCal early THUR morning. I’ll drive up to Victorville WED night and get a room that evening.
