I caught wind of this kit here on the forum, and after some internal debate and an email to the company I ordered it. I opted to get a jack locally which saved about $40 versus buying theirs. I even looked into order a few peices and not the whole kit, but the discount of quantity made it not worth while. For a trial run I did some rough measurements for new shocks, compressed and extended for the front and rear. If you've done this, you know that means doing the lifting of more than 4 tire changes in a sitting.
First the jack. It was $20 at Home depot. I've looked all over and found that all the chinese made jacks look identical and have almost the exact same specs, so it really came down to who was closest to me. The jack lifts a corner or center of my 8,000 lb truck with little effort. given how short the handle and stroke are, its not much if any harder than my hi-lift. I hate the two piece handle. its super cheap and likes to come apart pretty easy. I'll probably borrow the solid handle from one of my trolley jacks. (BTW I have a craftsman and a black jack 2 ton trolley jack, they're almost identical) The release comes quick and sudden, but the ram doesnt want to seat itself without load. So I had to manually compress it to clear the attachment.
The extensions themselves are pretty nifty. the kit ($215 plus $35 shipping) has a 3", 6", 8-12", a wide flat square and a u-shaped axle adapter. They come in a bag that has room for a few extras, like my lug key and cap hex key. There is also a collar for the height screw that allows you to mount the extensions without using any lift. I had a couple jack stands handy so I could change out extensions and go from stuffed to hung using primarily the bottle jack. Aside from the handle everything performed great. I used the axle adapter for each of the 4 lifts and its already showing some wear, but the piece of mind was worth it.
Total weight with jack is about 26 lbs. I'd recommend it to any one whos stock jack wont cut it any more, or doesnt have room for a hi-lift. The kit only fits 6 ton jacks, with a 1.25" ram.
