Last weekend was big! I worked up the courage to install our new 265-70-18 Goodyear Duratrac RT tires. I selected these tires because they were three peak rated, had over 16/32 tread, weren't e-rated, and have an aggressive side wall/tread. Tire options were limited for 18" wheels. but I am really happy with them so far! I also like that in tire world you round up, so our 32.6" tires can be called 33s! LOL

This tires size adds an additional 1.5" of lift to the rig!

Even with a lift it is necessary to trim for tires over 32". Watch the video if you dare see what was done. (Proceed at your own risk)

Honda has a new Passport in the works. Only time will tell what it looks like. So far we are loving the overall performance of this vehicle. It handles much better than our 2007 Honda Pilot in every way. I can't wait to take it to Overland South and the AWD Festival this month!

honda pilots aint no joke...

years back, i was doing work for a gas pipeline company here in the swamps of south louisiana and one of my employees had a friend that wanted to help us on a job working on a levy. i have a lifted tundra 4x4 that i was using because the job was so muddy and hard to deal with. his friend had a honda pilot and i laughed and told him i would use him and pay him if he could keep up with me. well...he did. that honda pilot did things i would not think possible for that type of vehicle...

The VTM-4 and i-VTM4 systems essentially act as on-demand rear limited-slip 'locks.' On our new Passport, the i-VTM4 even offers torque vectoring, which improves steering on slick surfaces! While no vehicle is perfect for every situation, this setup meets our daily driving and family adventure needs more than adequately. Our Hondas often surprise the 4x4 community because expectations are low, but we love the comfort, handling, and how well the AWD system performs in rain and snow!
