Hey guys! Tried doing a search but don't know if I was looking correctly. But I'm looking into getting a snorkel in the next couple of weeks and want to know what's the difference between these two. Any recommendations and advice before I bite the bullet. Thanks

Well, with the exception of the mushroom cap, I am not seeing anything different. I have been using the first one for a few years down in South Florida without any problems. I have had my 2010 JK up to the hood in water for extended periods and the air filter has never gotten wet.

Thanks for the info southdiver1. The mushroom cap one said something about a pre filter for extreme trails. Is that suppose to be like some type of extra filter protection? Dont really know lol what that would do. Newbie here on snorkels. Would any of these two snorkels work with the Gobi stealth Roof Rack? I like to see some pics if any jeeps using these with roof racks. Thanks.

As long as the roof rack doesn't extend more then a few inches in front of the windshield, you should be OK. I ran a Kargo Master for a little while and never ran into any kind of issues.
Now, the pre-filter is good for REALLY dusty off roading but, think something like that Baja 1000 where there is a ton of dust in the air for a really long time. If you look at my profile pic, you can see that the top of the filter bends away from the windshield near the top.

Ive got the first one as well, i do wash mine out (has a drain in it) been down very dusty trails, prefilter seems like overkill, but if it's worth doing it's worth overdoing I like the first one because I think it looks better as well

Cool man thanks for the info. Was it a hard install, do you need more than one person or can it be done by one person? Thanks again brother.

It took me about six hours to install mine. That is from physically pulling into the garage to putting all the tools away and sweeping up. Cutting the small notch in my fender tool about an hour because I was nervous but, people who have done it a few times can cut it in about 5 minutes.
My "word of wisdom" would be to take the pass side door OFF instead of simply trying to leave it open.

Oh yea I cringed when I saw that. Lol but your right once you start modifying and cutting into your jeep you get over it real quick. How do you like the shower so far, also how did you set it set up in the back with the how many gallons of water. By the way it looks real good and I bet it comes in handy.

Ha, she hates the jeep unfortunately. My 12 year old son and i take trips and are prepping for a 10 day trip to moab, then taking my daughter to the Grand Canyon. But ill post picks of heat exchanger install. Also installing a hidden retractable water hose real to refil and filter water container from creeks

That's sucks about the wifey not liking the jeep but sounds like an awesome trip your planning for the kids. Man I wish I lived up their to experience those trails. I got a job offer with my work to go to Las Vegas Nevada, of course to stay on the outside skirts of the city but my wife is not sure she likes the idea of being away to far from family. Lol. If it were me I'd be their in a month.

Shes an excellent wife and mom as well as a nurse, think she worries to much about our safety. If you're ever around, look us up.
Thats awesome! It's exactly what it is that motherly instincts and theirs nothing wrong with that. Also thanks for the offer I'll definitely hit you up either if I get that way or not.
