I have a thirsty one too but he's going to AA till I can afford a new 5 speed OD tranny swap !
mine has a 6 speed trans, 4.88 axle gear ratio and still sucks back 8 mpg on a good day lol

Lol 2wd hi. Low I out less strain on the engine and it will run all day long and idle through the trail but I drive slower so I get less miles lol. My final crawl rate to the tires it about 600:1 in first gear at the moment.
