Anyone have experience with reusable bags like these? I like preparing my food ahead of time, but I also don't want to generate a bunch of plastic garbage when I camp. I have a Food Saver and already preserve a lot of food in one time use bags. I also use them to sous vide food.

We've used the FoodSaver ziplocs and they work well enough. Just be sure to really clean them out before storing them for the trip home because they will get funky.

I didn't even know there was reusable bags!

I have a giant rolls of foodsaver bag, and bring a trasheroo.

It'd be nice if they made it biodegradable.

If they made a biodegradable vacuum bag! I'm not sure how they would hold up to use them for sous vide cooking. They are no worse than the prepared meal in mylar pouches. And empty take up less room and weight of canned food. And where I live we can recycle the vacuum seal bags along with other plastic bags. And vacuum packing your food saves space in your cooler of fridge, which ever way you choose. Also, I find it easier to defrost the food in the vacuum pack bag the thinner the substance is inside the vacuum bag. From what I read about the reusable vacuum bag is they only recommended to use them a few times and replace them.

I only tried a resealable bag once and it was a pain to clean the tight little corners. I like the idea though as I am a big user of my vacuum sealer.
