And on that note why do we have separate regions ? Separate forum sections ? Everything should all be together and jumbled up so it’s like a treasure hunt with no map to find any information.

I've hung out with the Jeepers when I had Jeeps, the Blazer guys when I had a K5, and now with the Colorado guys with my new ZR2. It's not that I'm being exclusive, I just want to hang with folks that have spares and skills to fix what I broke I am amazed how many overlanding ideas are adaptable to most any vehicle.

Except Toyotas - everything they have is proprietary

You would just love one of the groups I wheel with: DR0NK OHV. That's a zero in DR0NK. It's a call sign. Ham radio and off-roading all in one.
Ha! I like it!
I can't really bust on ham operators...i was a submarine radioman so i spent a good bit of time hunched over the stack broadcasting who knows what to who knows who.

Well if thats a issue you may want to go back to the jeep club , about the only spare part your going to get off another colorado is a spare tire and that likely wont work if you have went up a tire size or two. At least i wouldnt pull my alternator or glow plugs or any other critical mechanical part from my rig (try replacing a waterpump on a 2.8 duramax on trail) to be left on the trail and give to you to get home. I would however help you do a bush repair, tow you back home or at the very least back to civilization to a dealership to get it fixed. Make or model shouldnt matter who your going to hang out and wheel with its their capability to do the same stuff you can without much trouble that should, in my coloardo im not going to offroad with folks in sedans they cant go where i want to and it would be a pain to drag or winch em through, on the other hand im not going to wheel with built rock crawler buggies because i cant go where they would want to go and i would only hold them back. Even with jeep there are so many different models which use so many different parts and engines/swaps you cant really say its for parts interchangeability, and unless your hauling everything in a big trailer and racing your truck in king of the hammers or a score race you arent hauling a bunch of spare parts around everywhere atleast not with a full load of camping gear especially with our load capacity, then there is the fact 2nd gen colorados arent just something you can go down to advanced autparts for spares, alot still has to be bought direct from gm at a premium price. Heck there are still some parts only available in australia and asia.

I’m going to make a club so exclusive that only a handful of people will get the privilege of being invited into it but if you have a invite your not allowed into it and there will be a special V V VIP section that will be so exclusive not even I will be allowed in it , and I will call it entertainment 720 D88CD6BF-39D2-4FC3-85A4-DD096470F5AF.gif

Don't get me started on the Ham radio martians.

When I see a nice antenna on a group ride, I instantly look to see if he's got a nice girlfriend in the passenger seat to steal. Easy pickins.

Why do you folks with jeeps and landrovers, 4 runners etc think you need to have some sort of specific vehicle group inside a all inclusive vehicle club? If your looking for specific information on your rig you would be better off at a forum specific to your vehicle example, ih8mud for the rovers.

Im in no way hating on your vehicle just your choice to surround yourself with the same thing youve already got. Thats boring. I understand you want to see what others have done to rides and get ideas and stuff, pro tip use the search engine you will find em all and you wont flood the forums with annoying owner registries.

Rant over
This is a nice diverse web site with a lot of information on a lot of different stuff. I do not understand why you don't do what I do and just not click on threads that don't interest you.

No one is forcing you to read the threads that seem to bother you so don't. I guess I'm an idiot because I don't understand the need for a rant (your words) about this.

Is this about the "registry" thread for the different vehicles? That's kind of a "show and tell" for vehicles. Folks can see things and share tips and tricks but I don't think any of them are malicious or cause folks to group together and exclude others.

It's neat to see what's done to vehicles similar to yours and many folks don't participate in other forums (I'm active on several other forums myself).
I agree about reading the threads that appeal to you and ignoring the ones that don't. I like seeing things that others have done to their vehicles, trailers or campsites. There's a lot of good ideas on here and a few that aren't.

As far as being part of a group and hanging out as far as I know I have one of the few if not the only Willys on here and I'm not offended by the other groups. I spend time reading the things that interest me and ignoring those that don't.
