Okay, just called the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. They do not close down the trail due to rain, however if they (rangers?) see you damaging the trails (unnecessarily creating ruts) they will make you leave. With that said, the lady was saying they're getting a lot of rain and expecting snow later in the week. We can keep the date and time and make it interesting or maybe reschedule for next week (Sunday seems to work for everyone interested) and pray it drys out a little?
