Did you end up finding a good spot? Ill be rolling through Mendocino NF in a couple of weeks, and lookinf for a good basecamp area

Hey guys MNF has tons of remote spots. The one that comes to mind right now is a cool little spot down over the edge of the M6 several miles North East of Lake Pilsbury. The only indication that its there is what appears to be a road heading over the edge towards the river. Its a small spot feet from the Eel River with a fire pit. The spot is just to the left of where it says Eel River in the image below.

I wouldn't really recommend Pinnacle Rock. There are not lots of places to go in the area (and its barely within the national forest) or link up to the rest of the woods to the north. Also, since its on a ridge directly over Clear Lake its very exposed to any wind and weather. :confused:
