Registering a custom trailer in SC

Not to be a smart ass . But how about as a jeep using existing vin. I built a teardrop in IN. Had to have it inspected to prove it didnt have a vin. Then after providing documention I built it(reciepts) state issued a vin, then had to have it inspected a second time to make sure it had a vin, they would then issue a title. All of this done by mail and local police. Now I'm ready to go to BMV and get plate. Point is it was a long drawn out process. Check with your local departments. Also some states will title and register trailers online weather you live there or not. Vermont is one I think.
