Hi,

I think this one is right here in the DIY category.

I've long been annoyed by the fact that many small things, such as a handheld radios and other devices, are often black. This doesn't make them any easier to find when you've put them somewhere. So I was looking for something to make these things more visible and findable.

Bought some self-adhesive refelctive tape in bright colors and put it on the radio:

Satisfied with the result, I also upgraded the first aid kit right away:

Maybe an idea that will help one or the other here.

Happy trails,
Björn

Excellent solution! I have that stuff all over my helmet and motorcycle.

I just ordered some new handhelds. When they get delivered, they're going to get this treatment straight away. Same with the First Aid Kit, as that's an even better idea.

Thanks!

Great! Thanks for this feedback! If you don't mind, please share some pics of your handhelds and the 1st aid kit once you did it.

I like it.

Every time I see a camo pocket knife,or lighter, or flashlight I shake my head in bewilderment
Right, camo, grey, black knives have the same problem I described with the radio handhelds... not easy to find sometimes.

It might be some time before I get my dedicated 1st Aid Kit. But the handhelds arrived yesterday...

Looking good! What kind of handhelds are these? GMRS?
Thanks. Yes, GMRS, Midland GTX1000s. They came in a promotional bundle with a hard mount radio (MXT115). Midland had a 25% off code for the GTX line. I just went to the site and it looks like that's been extended to 30Jan21. With the code, the bundle was about $158 usd.
